Purkersdorf

The municipality of Purkersdorf is located in the Vienna Woods, on the outskirts of Vienna. Those interested in culture can visit the medieval parish church of St. Jakob with the miraculous image of the nursing Mother of God as well as the Purkersdorf Sanatorium, which was built in 1904-05 by architect Josef Hoffmann and is considered an example of architecture in the style of the Viennese Secession. The Purkersdorf Sandstone Vienna Woods Nature Park offers a nature trail as well as deer, red deer and wild boar enclosures.
